The Village Well: Starting a Small Business During a Pandemic

The Village Well is a bookstore-cafe in Culver City, CA planning to open in the week of December 13. Jennifer Caspar has been dreaming of starting this business for decades, and when the chips finally fell into place, the world fell apart. COVID-19 brought the realization of this project to a screeching halt: what was going to be a three month construction and preparation period is nearing a year. Finally, however, the store is just steps away from opening its doors (to a limited capacity), and a dream is being realized.
