February 10-14, 2025, marks the annual international celebration of Love Data Week, and the Library is celebrating by asking students, “Whose Data Is It, Anyway?”
During the week, there will be an interactive display in Lauinger Library’s lobby, where librarians and staff will lead discussions on just how much personal data people generate every day and how students handle their own personal data.
In addition to the display, Data Service Librarian Abby Scheetz and colleagues have put together six workshops designed for campus community members at all experience levels to explore the power of data:
- Monday, 2/10, 12:30-1:30 p.m., Data Visualization for Total Beginners (Zoom)
- Monday, 2/10, 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m., Business Trends and Outlook Survey (Zoom)
- Tuesday, 2/11, 12:30-1:30 p.m., Excel for Total Beginners (Dubin)
- Wednesday, 2/12, 12:30-1:30 p.m., Text Mining for Total Beginners (Zoom)

- Thursday, 2/13, 12:30-1:30 p.m., Computer Assisted Qualitative Data Analysis for Total Beginners (Hybrid, Dubin and Zoom)
Love Data Week was established in 2016 as Love Your Data Week. Originally created in the United States, it quickly grew to an international event in which a wide range of institutions, organizations, scholars, students, and other data lovers could celebrate their data.
