The purpose of the CCT Community Cookbook is to celebrate and explore the rich tapestry of personal narratives within our community through cherished recipes. Each recipe, accompanied by its story, offers a window into the home, family traditions, and cultural or linguistic heritage of its contributor. By inviting current CCT students, alumni, and faculty to share their recipe-narratives, we honor the unique positionality of each community member. This CCT project intends to elevate an awareness of CCT’s own cultural, linguistic, and glocal lens, a fusion of global and local characteristics within our group identity. The narrative cookbook, through text, audio, video, and maps, aspires to visualize our hybrid state where our community members maintain a connection to their local culture while also being influenced by and participating in global trends and values of this department. Through these diverse perspectives, we aim to illuminate the multifaceted identities that shape our community, while highlighting the shared values and connections that unite us. Submissions from various CCT classes also serve as a means to find throughlines connecting different areas of the department focused on communications, culture, and technology. Together, these stories and recipes will provide CCT with a unique lens to see itself as a vibrant, diverse, and unified community where every member can be known and appreciated for their distinct experiences and contributions.
