The Dreamer

This animation showcases a blind pianist (The Dreamer) who takes an epic but mental voyage across the ocean. Through his playing, he is able to experience a phenomenon that he would otherwise be incapable of because of his disability. The flow of the music and the mythical feeling of the song (Merry-Go-Round of Life from "Howl's Moving Castle") generate this sense of journeying and happiness, juxtaposed by the sudden snap to the melancholic reality at the end.
Since I personally play the piano (and also occasionally blindfolded :) ), I resonate with going on this spiritual cruise as the fingers glide across the keys; whenever the piece ends, a part of my soul feels empty. Music truly brings a unique sensation to humanity, and utilizing animation to achieve and portray that sentiment is something extraordinary to do.
