The American Dream: Two Years as a Student Athlete

"Comfort is where joy fizzles and dreams fade"

What does it feel like to stand on a start line, thousands of miles from home, unsure whether your mind will carry you through? This project uses the structure of a competitive race to explore something less measurable than a finishing time: the inner state of an athlete on race day and that of a 25-year old girl adjusting to a new culture and environment.
